Hill Announces Candidacy For The U.S. Senate As A Republican

Brian Hill, a former active duty military officer and JAG attorney who has an active law practice in Hartford, has announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate as a Republican.

“Our country is in trouble,” Mr. Hill said. “We have too much debt; a Congress that doesn't respect the Constitution; bureaucrats who do not recognize the people, and an unprecedented attack on the freedoms of business. The consequences of these policies and the culture of dependency they create can be seen by the failure in our inner cities and through the tragic destruction of many working class families oppressed by the welfare state. I am running because I know that to get America back on her feet we need to get the government out of the way.”



The owner of BKH & Associates, a law firm in downtown Hartford, Mr. Hill is a Connecticut native licensed to practice law in Connecticut, the U.S. Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces and the Court of Federal Claims. He is a member of the Hartford Country Bar Association, Metro Hartford Alliance, and numerous other professional organizations and associations. Mr. Hill is a resident of Windsor. Brian K. Hill spoke to the Madison Republican Town Committee meeting tonight and his points were similar to my campaign message. He told us we must reduce the size of government, create jobs in the private sector, pay down the national debt, and turn around CT so that we are more business friendly. So far I agree with him on his positions. It is shaping up to be an interesting race. Let's flip the Senate AND Congress.

Understanding North Korea Through Dramaturgy

The U.S. military is sending the Vinson Strike Group, including the carrier and two guided-missile destroyers, to operate in the Western Pacific Ocean in response to Pyongyang’s recent missile tests. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, asked about the strike force, issued a terse statement: “The United States has spoken enough about North Korea. We have no further comment.” Is this a post-Syrian bombing mission? Will the US take out North Korea’s missile launching sites, possibly with the unspoken concurrence of China? Never let a bombing go to waste. There are some in the United States who think any such incident should be used to rid North Korea of that runty little totalitarian cock-of-the-walk who keeps his countrymen starved, in fear and at his knees. Steve Hilton , a Fox News commentator who over the weekend had connected some Burisma corruption dots, had this to say about Connecticut U.S. Senator Dick Blumenthal’s association with the tangled knot of corruption in Ukraine: “We cross-referenced the Senate co-sponsors of Ed Markey's Ukraine gas bill with the list of Democrats whom Burisma lobbyist, David Leiter, routinely gave money to and found another one -- one of the most sanctimonious of them all, actually -- Sen. Richard Blumenthal."
