Hunter Biden’s Laptop From Hell

Hunter Biden's teeth

Possibly a number of Democrats have read the more lurid parts of Hunter Biden’s “Laptop From Hell” by now.

A news account of content on the laptop, Hunter’s own Satyricon, was published by the Daily Mail nearly two years ago, after it had been determined beyond doubt that the matter on the laptop was not planted there by the devious Vladimir Putin, Czar of all the Russias, including Ukraine. Included in the report are samples of compromising father and son emails.

The Daily Mail report is a combination of plain old pornography, courtesy of Hunter Biden, and political pornography. The saddest picture published in the news report is one showing Hunter Biden showing his teeth, ravaged by drug use, to the camera.

Thanks to the New York Post (NYP), accurate reports on the laptop’s content were printed before people in the U.S went to the polls to elect Joe Biden, Hunter’s dad, as President, but the publication of the laptop’s content, lurid because Hunter’s life was lurid, was forestalled by the FBI, among others, who put it about that the real-time laptop texts, pictures and emails were the result of Russian disinformation.

This is the second time major U.S. intelligence agencies were deployed to press that false claim. We now know a similar claim – that Hillary Clinton’s loss to Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election was in part owing to Russian disinformation – was, as Trump put it at the time and ever since, a “hoax.”

Will the relevant media distribution centers in the U.S. pay attention this time to misleading claims that the matter on the laptop was “Russian disinformation”?

The short answer is no. Naturally, that does not mean the Hunter Biden laptop story is not a story. Surely it is no secret by now that the legacy media in the U.S. would prefer as president someone other than former President Donald Trump. Even Hunter Biden’s dad will do.

Early in March, 2022, the NYP chastised the New York Times (NYT): “First, the New York Times decides more than a year later that Hunter Biden’s business woes are worthy of a story. Then, deep in the piece, in passing, it notes that Hunter’s laptop is legitimate.”

The Post writer, schadenfreude flecking his lips, quoted the Times: “People familiar with the investigation said prosecutors had examined emails between Mr. Biden, Mr. Archer and others about Burisma and other foreign business activity. Those emails were obtained by The New York Times from a cache of files that appears to have come from a laptop abandoned by Mr. Biden in a Delaware repair shop. The email and others in the cache were authenticated by people familiar with them and with the investigation.”

It has now been six months since the NYT had verified that the matter on Hunter’s laptop was not a Putin disinformation hoax.

What now?

No Republicans of any prominence are much interested in the salacious texts and pictures of Hunter’s exposé of himself, however titter and twitter provoking. But the political pornography is a different matter.

Much of the political pornography centers upon the Bidens’ intimate relations with foreign, crooked politicians in China, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and other states pledged – see Lenin – to hang capitalist states with the rope supplied to them by investor capitalists.

Both Xi Jinping ‘s China and Putin’s Russia have become fascist states, authoritarian to the bone. Ukraine has shucked off its Russian handpicked authoritarian masters, which is why Putin, having bitten off Crimea, is now eager to pull into a refashioned soviet protectorate the whole of a bomb cratered Ukraine.

China, leveraging Western business enterprises, wants to replace the United States as a military power in the Pacific and elsewhere. Having given the United States COVID and now fentanyl, a killer drug pouring across the southern border of the US hand in hand with a US bound south of the border drug distribution architecture, China is a much more powerful enemy of democracy than its associate states, Russia, Syria, Iran, Korea, et al.

Indeed, if it can be believed, China, Russia and Iran -- a new Axis of Evil – are, combined, a greater threat to American democracy than Trump’s MAGA supporters, though those in the U.S prepared to swallow whole and unexamined Biden’s tasty anti-MAGA rhetoric might doubt it for political reasons.

Speaking of reason, is it reasonable to believe that the Biden administration has been compromised by son Biden’s lucrative business relationships with Russia and China? Is the question a necessary one or a sign of impertinence, such as Biden’s notion that Trump supporters are larval fascists?

Biden larded his speech in Philadelphia, the city of brotherly love, with claims that Trump followers, nearly half the country, were “semi-fascists.” A day later, he was furiously backpedaling; only extreme MAGA followers were semi-fascists. And then, the following day, he was telling news outlets that Republicans in the U.S. Congress were Trumpists, i.e. semi-fascists.

With disinformation like this, swallowed whole by uncritical members of the U.S. Biden-media-complex, Russian Communist Party interference in U.S. elections would appear to be redundant.

The Blumenthal Burisma Connection

Steve Hilton , a Fox News commentator who over the weekend had connected some Burisma corruption dots, had this to say about Connecticut U.S. Senator Dick Blumenthal’s association with the tangled knot of corruption in Ukraine: “We cross-referenced the Senate co-sponsors of Ed Markey's Ukraine gas bill with the list of Democrats whom Burisma lobbyist, David Leiter, routinely gave money to and found another one -- one of the most sanctimonious of them all, actually -- Sen. Richard Blumenthal."

Powell, the JI, And Economic literacy

Powell, Pesci Substack The Journal Inquirer (JI), one of the last independent newspapers in Connecticut, is now a part of the Hearst Media chain. Hearst has been growing by leaps and bounds in the state during the last decade. At the same time, many newspapers in Connecticut have shrunk in size, the result, some people seem to think, of ad revenue smaller newspapers have lost to internet sites and a declining newspaper reading public. Surviving papers are now seeking to recover the lost revenue by erecting “pay walls.” Like most besieged businesses, newspapers also are attempting to recoup lost revenue through staff reductions, reductions in the size of the product – both candy bars and newspapers are much smaller than they had been in the past – and sell-offs to larger chains that operate according to the social Darwinian principles of monopolistic “red in tooth and claw” giant corporations. The first principle of the successful mega-firm is: Buy out your predator before he swallows

Down The Rabbit Hole, A Book Review

Down the Rabbit Hole How the Culture of Corrections Encourages Crime by Brent McCall & Michael Liebowitz Available at Amazon Price: $12.95/softcover, 337 pages   “ Down the Rabbit Hole: How the Culture of Corrections Encourages Crime ,” a penological eye-opener, is written by two Connecticut prisoners, Brent McCall and Michael Liebowitz. Their book is an analytical work, not merely a page-turner prison drama, and it provides serious answers to the question: Why is reoffending a more likely outcome than rehabilitation in the wake of a prison sentence? The multiple answers to this central question are not at all obvious. Before picking up the book, the reader would be well advised to shed his preconceptions and also slough off the highly misleading claims of prison officials concerning the efficacy of programs developed by dusty old experts who have never had an honest discussion with a real convict. Some of the experts are more convincing cons than the cons, p
